Illicit liquor factory busted in Delhi; chemicals, equipment used to seal bottles seized - Cities News

Delhi Police on Friday busted an illicit liquor factory operating in Old Garhi Mendu village in Usmanpur, Shahdara. Police also seized huge quantities of chemicals and equipment which were used to seal the liquor bottles.

It is suspected that the illicit liquor was supposed to be sold in Haryana.

As per the information, a police team was patrolling in the New Usmanpur area on Friday when they noticed a foul smell near a Masjid located in the area. Suspicious, police knocked at the door of a nearby house to which a man named Shyam (26) responded.

Subsequently, a search was conducted which led to the recovery of a plastic drum full of 220 litres (approx) of illicit liquor, 50 sealed quarter bottles of ADDS Motta Liquor, marked as for sale in Haryana, 2 plastic containers containing chemicals 32 kg each, 1 plastic container of 5 liters chemicals, required in blending the illicit liquor, 2 gunny bags full of empty bottles, 2 packets full of caps, stickers of different liquor brands, 3D hologram stickers, a machine to seal the bottles and one scooty which was used to supply the illicit liquor.

A case has been registered into the matter and further investigations are on.
